Natasha Chowdhury caught up with Rob Swire from Pendulum

Pendulum - DnB Rock around the clock!

Pendulum have brought drum and bass to the forefront of pop music and educated the ears of a new rave generation. Their sounds of rock drum and bass and have definitely built up quite a following worldwide and led to numerous appearances in Notts, including a DJ set for MNSTR at Gatecrasher on 7 November. I had a chat with Pendulum lead singer and producer Rob Swire last time they were in Nottingham...
So who do you reckon is the daddy of the band?
There isn’t one. We all get equal credit but I guess it depends on what you are talking about. I mean if you are talking about production that’s mainly me and Gaz.

The Ticket: Pendulum
They hail from the most remote city on Earth - Perth, Australia - and have crossed the globe and several musical genres to achieve international fame.
With three top-selling albums and blistering, technologically sophisticated live shows, Pendulum effortlessly cross the divides between drum & bass, prog, techno and metal.
This is a band that can woo Iron Maiden fans at Download and call on Prodigy mastermind Liam Howlett to collaborate on their current album Immersion.
Add the fact that Rob Swire, the band's lead singer and main man, has co-produced and written R&B star Rihanna's US No 1 Rude Boy, and he would appear to have several musical worlds at his feet.
But the fringe benefits that go with the territory hold no appeal for the 27-year-old multi-instrumentalist.
